Tick, tock, tick, tock... and so the year is speeding past us all! Have you had a chance to take some time out and reflect on the months that are behind us? Have you achieved your goals or at least some of them? I hope so. If not, remember, the year is only half way. One of your goals was to be involved with D4D and for that we thank you. You are making a difference in this world. Is does not matter how small or big your involvement is - you are doing something.

Time has also not stood still for D4D. You are reading our first e-newsletter and we are very excited about our new website which should be up and running very soon. We will let you know. On this point we would again like to thank Malcolm Ball, Kiran Ranjit & Petronella Carolus as well as John Stokes for INXCOM for their wonderful donations that made this all possible.

For four D4D athletes, Comrades 2009 were a very special occasion. Jacques (10:49), Stephan (11:34) & Charl (11:59) Pieterse, 3 brothers, completed this grueling event with their brother-in-law, Jan Botha (10:44) on 24 May.

Six other D4D athletes also completed the event. They were Emile Kotze (08:55), Heine Matthee (09:46), Martie Swanepoel (10:52), Noel Gilpin (10:57), Shawn Roets (11:11) & De Wet Schreiber (10:49).

PRAGMA

PRAGMA's purpose is to improve the performance of their client's physical assets through a unique service called ACC or Asset Care Centres.

For the past 5 years the company and their employees have also cared for children in need via their involvement with Distance For Difference.

Tzadokah Foster Home
D4D has a long standing relationship with this foster home.

This home, situated in Kraaifontein, near Cape Town, cares for 6 children previously subjected to abuse and abandonment.

The foster parents are Jacques & Leaticia Zimri. D4D & sponsors from the Netherlands, recently sponsored a R28,000 operation to improve one of the children's hearing.
